Monumental Bass: Avantone Release CLA-SUB
The CLA-Sub is an ideal studio subwoofer for producers and engineers who work with cinema sound or any modern music genre that prioritizes deep bass. While the CLA-Sub is designed to be a perfect match for the CLA-series of white cone studio monitors, its filter options make it a fantastic sub for any recording studio or home theatre.
The CLA-Sub can be configured in either downward-firing or frontward-firing modes to best suit the acoustics of your mix room. Simply remove and reattach the rubber feet to deploy the configuration that best serves your room and your music.
- Front-firing mode provides the cleanest possible reproduction from CLA-Sub, as the woofer does not couple with the floor of the room.
- Downward-firing mode deliberately takes advantage of coupling to the room to increase output by +3 dB.
The CLA-Sub’s repositionable feet employ a special vibration-dampening material that minimizes the mechanical coupling between the CLA-Sub in your room to reduce sympathetic vibrations that can color the playback of your mix. No aftermarket acoustic isolation pads required!
Exclusive dual-magnet driver for clarity and volume
At the heart of CLA-Sub is our custom dual-magnet driver, not available in any other speaker. Every element of the custom driver was designed to minimize distortion while increasing output volume. Other manufacturers’ subwoofers will often deliver as much low-end as possible through deliberate distortion and coloration. This approach can cause signals to be perceived as louder, when they in fact just have more harmonic content through distortion.
We find this practice to be at best dishonest, and at worst an insult to your music. We took the opposite approach with our custom driver. We did all we could to ensure it delivers clean, clear bass at shockingly high volume.
First, its stacked dual ferrite magnet design grants CLA-Sub the power to push and pull air with more efficiency and control than comparable drivers. To avoid harmonics and overtones, we experimented with several cone substrates before settling on a particularly rigid paper that minimizes distortions while still providing a quick, snappy transient response. With CLA-Sub, you’ll hear the low end of your tracks with clarity and honesty.
Configuration options for the most demanding studios
A sweepable high-cut control lets you dial in your crossover point from 50-180 Hz; the output low-cut filter lets you trim the fat at 80 or 100 Hz for the signal sent to your studio monitors. You also get phase and gain controls. A switchable power-saving standby mode is available, putting CLA-Sub into a power-efficient sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Locking XLR / ¼” TRS combo inputs keep your audio connections tight and secure, even when those 808 kicks are rattling the fillings in your teeth.
CLA-Sub’s operation can be toggled using a footswitch for quick A/B comparisons of your mixes with and without the sub.

SPL Release The Venos Mastering Compressor
The Venos stereo bus compressor is based on the same design as many legendary vintage tube compressors, but expands this impressive sonic signature with modern features such as SPL's proprietary 120V technology and two revolutionary hyper-compression modes. All parameters on Venos are set using switches or detented potentiometers – a single control element manages both, the left and right channel. All parameters have been fine-tuned in countless listening sessions to make the compressor intuitive to use and to add size, depth and impact to every stereo signal, as soon as Venos is turned on. SPL Venos – All about Venos
SPL's goal was to create the perfect all analog 120V technology stereo bus compressor – SPL were fast with the initial design but it took us so long to fine tune all the parameters to make the Venos exactly the way SPL imagine the perfect bus comp. It should be easy to use and huge in sound. After all this adjusting of little parameters SPL had the idea to add two new modes based on compression with negative ratio. Keep in mind SPL have a variable bias comp here with no fixed ratio. The results are the Focus and Punch modes – SPL call it hyper-compression modes. Be aware, it is something you never experienced before.
SPL made a first batch of Venos to get feedback from the SPL Artist community before the official product release. The feedback was that good and absolutely no one wanted to let the Venos leave the studio again. SPL took this opportunity to shoot some nice videos with these Artists to share their experience using the SPL Venos Stereo Bus Compressor with the whole SPL community.

New Drivers
The BRC2 is a center channel equipped with new 16cm / 6,5 inches drivers, ideal for Home Cinema setups, offering more precise midrange frequency reproduction. Placed beneath the screen, it ensures clear dialogue and provides an immersive and well-balanced sound experience.
With its bass-reflex design and dual tubular vent at the front, it optimizes low frequencies for richer bass. Its front airflow allows for flexible installation while ensuring optimal acoustics.

Triangle Release Borea BR04 Speakers
The BR04 was born of the desire to push the limits of the famous BR03, offering even better performance in a compact bookshelf speaker. Priced at £529 a pair, the BR04 TRIANGLE is continuing the tradition of offering affordable high performance in the BOREA speaker range. The BR04 benefits from several improvements that enhance low-frequency sound reproduction, while gaining clarity.
High Performance with Extended Frequency Response
The BR04 is a two-way bookshelf loudspeaker that can be placed on a dedicated stand or placed on a bookshelf or counter.
• The 25mm silk dome tweeter combined with a waveguide (EFS* Technology) ensures precise sound and even sound diffusion.
• The 16cm-diameter bass-midrange with a natural cellulose pulp membrane for a warm, realistic reproduction of vocal timbre. The cone profile has been reworked to reduce distortion at high frequencies, for a clearer sound at high volumes.

New Tubular Vent for Optimized airflow
The BR04 features a new bass-reflex port on the front, optimizing airflow for deep, controlled bass. This reduces turbulence and delivers more accurate sound reproduction. The larger cabinet size extends the frequency response in the bass range from 44 to 22,000 Hz, with a sensitivity of 90db/W. The front port allows the BR04 speaker to be positioned with more flexibility even against a wall without compromising sound quality.
Home Theater Compatible
TRIANGLE now offers 10 models in the BOREA range offering an affordable high performance for both Two Chanel and Home Theater. Double Audiophile Binding Posts
The BR04 employs new double binding posts with a redesigned crossover architecture, separating mid-bass frequency processing from high frequencies. Driver Vibration Absorption Technology
DVAS (*Driver Vibration Absorption System) is a proprietary system unique to TRIANGLE.
TRIANGLE’s exclusive DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System) reduces vibrations by cleverly integrating the drivers into the speaker structure. This improves the rigidity of the whole to attenuate any parasitic frequencies. This process attenuates vibrations generated by the movement of the midrange driver. The result: sound reproduction gains in clarity, detail and dynamics.

Sends Spill
With the new fader modes, you can access all six sends of a track on the first six faders. Press “Send 1” to access all the same send for ten different tracks, and simply press it again to access all six sends for the current track. (Console 1 Fader Mk III)
Improved Param Mode
It’s easy to access a Console 1 parameter, for example Width or Compression, from your faders by using “Param Mode”. Pressing “Param” again let’s you access several different parameters for the current track, for example the entire compressor laid out on the faders. (Console 1 Fader Mk III)
New Waveform View in On-Screen Display
The gain reduction waveform is now available in the OSD. On your Mk III unit, hold Shift while pressing the buttons next to the screen, on Mk I/II set your preferred visualization from the Settings menu.

Cubase/Nuendo Direct DAW Control

Pro Tools HUI Improvements
When Pro Tools HUI is with at least one Console 1 plug-in inserted, you now get both track numbers and colors in HUI mode. We also added the ability to scroll through tracks by using Shift + Pan.
Compact Mode in Direct DAW Control Mode
In Direct DAW Control (Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools), Compact Mode will now only show tracks with a Console 1 instance instead of showing all controllable tracks. This will make it easier to navigate and organize your projects.
Easier Reboot of Hardware
Press and hold Display On for more than five seconds to trigger a reboot of the hardware (Console 1 Channel Mk III and Fader Mk III).

Improved MIDI Mode for Console 1 Mk I/II
It is now possible to use your older Console 1 (Mk I or II) in MIDI mode while the On-Screen Display is running, so that you can use that unit as a MIDI controller while you’re using Mk III units with Console 1. Just select “Use Mk I/II as MIDI Controllers” from the Console 1 On-Screen Display’s menu icon.

The new LUNAR 3 is inspired by Pro-Ject’s flagship Debut Carbon model, with its iconic carbon arm. Designed for universal use, the LUNAR 3 incorporates a phono pre- amplifier for perfect compatibility with CAPELLA active loudspeakers. The turntable comes in a luxurious lacquered finish, making it an elegant partner for CAPELLA. Available in Black, Blue and White high gloss finishes.
Benefiting greatly from the expertise of the Austrian company Pro- Ject, Europe’s leading turntable manufacturer, the LUNAR 3 features an engine with two sorbothane silent-blocks and a next-generation suspension system that limits vibrations. The rotation speed is perfectly controlled, smoothly reproducing the movement right up to the stainless-steel axis.
This is where you find the flat belt that drives the steel platter, whose density ensures even rotation. All these components are placed on a high-density fiberboards base, mounted on three damping feet, guaranteeing excellent stability.
ORTOFON 2M RED CARTRIDGE
The LUNAR 3 features an MM (moving magnet) cartridge, well known to audiophiles: the Ortofon 2M Red. Research carried out by Danish manufacturer Ortofon, who have been specializing in vinyl reproduction for over 100 years, have produced a high-precision cartridge with exceptional musicality.
Its diamond elliptical shaped stylus matches the groove perfectly and enables the LUNAR 3 to deliver outstanding musical performance, so you can get the best possible performance from your vinyl records.
CARBON TONEARM
The LUNAR 3 features a straight tonearm made from a single piece of carbon, for which Pro-Ject is known. With an effective weight of just 6g, it has the advantage of being both exceptionally light and rigid to reduce unwanted vibrations.
Meticulously engineered, this turntable allows accurate adjustment of the counterweight, which is placed on the back of the tonearm, to optimize the tracking force placed by the cartridge on the record. The LUNAR 3 also features an anti-skating calibration weight to compensate for the centripetal force that pulls the tonearm towards the inside of the record.
UNIVERSAL COMPATIBILITY
The LUNAR 3 turntable is compatible with all types of vinyl records on the market, being 33, 45 or 78 rpm. Selecting the rotation speed for 33 and 45 rpm vinyl records is easy, thanks to the switch located under the left front panel of the turntable. Playback of 78 rpm records is ensured by a special belt, supplied with the LUNAR 3.
BUILT-IN MM PHONO PREAMP
The LUNAR 3 was designed to be compatible with all audio systems, from traditional Hi-Fi systems to the latest generation of connected speakers. It directly integrates an MM phono preamp that can be activated if your Hi-Fi system is not equipped with one. To ensure perfect connectivity with your Hi-Fi system, high- quality gold plating is used on the turntable’s outputs, as well as on the RCA Phono cable supplied with the turntable.
PREMIUM FINISHES
The LUNAR 3 features a luxurious lacquered finish to beautifully match our CAPELLA speakers. The turntable is available in three finishes: Black, White, and Blue. It comes with a lightly smoked acrylic dust cover with adjustable hinges, to protect the turntable from dust.

AUDIX Introduces D6X Kick Drum Microphone
Wilsonville, OR (January 9, 2025) — AUDIX, designer and manufacturer of premium professional microphones for stage, studio, and broadcast use, is proud to release the D6X, the next generation of one of the most popular microphones in its 40-year history. The D6X extends the capabilities of the classic D6, which has become the contemporary standard for reproducing kick drum, floor toms, bass guitar cabinets, and other low-frequency sources.
The D6X introduces a recessed, no-tools-required switch that selects between three frequency response profiles:
• Deep (bottom position): Identical to the classic D6 and the most familiar starting point for a forward sound that cuts through the mix.
• Balanced (center position): Provides more midrange and upper midrange, lending itself well to a somewhat more traditional kick drum sound while retaining the impact for which the original D6 is known.
• Natural (top position): Selects a more linear response, with even more midrange and an adjusted high-end roll off. This position is geared towards experimentation on sources with a fuller range of frequency content, such as Latin percussion, guitar amp cabinets, or even the lower driver of a rotary organ speaker.
The VLM (very low mass) mic diaphragm handles high sound pressure levels with ease, providing natural, distortion-free sound capture. It is paired with a transformerless output circuit to minimize impedance and eliminate interference and signal loss, even when using very long cable runs.
Though the D6X visually resembles its forbear and is therefore instantly recognizable, its enhanced design features a black anodized aluminum housing with an elegant, textured matte finish. Though and lightweight enough to place almost anywhere, its sense of heft in the hand communicates robust build quality. The steel mesh grille will withstand years of rugged stage use, and the enhanced XLR connector will guarantee optimal signal conductivity for superior output performance.
