Triangle LUNAR 3 : The new turntable

Triangle Ship Lunar 3 Model Turntables

Following the success of its first turntable, the LUNAR 1, TRIANGLE launched the LUNAR 3 last autumn. The new LUNAR 3 is inspired by Pro-Ject’s flagship Debut Carbon model, with its iconic carbon arm. It combines meticulous finishes and top-quality components thanks to the expertise of the Austrian manufacturer.

Designed for universal use, the LUNAR 3 incorporates a phono pre- amplifier for perfect compatibility with CAPELLA active loudspeakers. The turntable comes in a luxurious lacquered finish, making it an elegant partner for CAPELLA. Available in Black, Blue and White high gloss finishes.

Benefiting greatly from the expertise of the Austrian company Pro- Ject, Europe’s leading turntable manufacturer, the LUNAR 3 features an engine with two sorbothane silent-blocks and a next-generation suspension system that limits vibrations. The rotation speed is perfectly controlled, smoothly reproducing the movement right up to the stainless-steel axis.

This is where you find the flat belt that drives the steel platter, whose density ensures even rotation. All these components are placed on a high-density fiberboards base, mounted on three damping feet, guaranteeing excellent stability.

ORTOFON 2M RED CARTRIDGE

The LUNAR 3 features an MM (moving magnet) cartridge, well known to audiophiles: the Ortofon 2M Red. Research carried out by Danish manufacturer Ortofon, who have been specializing in vinyl reproduction for over 100 years, have produced a high-precision cartridge with exceptional musicality.

Its diamond elliptical shaped stylus matches the groove perfectly and enables the LUNAR 3 to deliver outstanding musical performance, so you can get the best possible performance from your vinyl records.

CARBON TONEARM

The LUNAR 3 features a straight tonearm made from a single piece of carbon, for which Pro-Ject is known. With an effective weight of just 6g, it has the advantage of being both exceptionally light and rigid to reduce unwanted vibrations.

Meticulously engineered, this turntable allows accurate adjustment of the counterweight, which is placed on the back of the tonearm, to optimize the tracking force placed by the cartridge on the record. The LUNAR 3 also features an anti-skating calibration weight to compensate for the centripetal force that pulls the tonearm towards the inside of the record.

UNIVERSAL COMPATIBILITY

The LUNAR 3 turntable is compatible with all types of vinyl records on the market, being 33, 45 or 78 rpm. Selecting the rotation speed for 33 and 45 rpm vinyl records is easy, thanks to the switch located under the left front panel of the turntable. Playback of 78 rpm records is ensured by a special belt, supplied with the LUNAR 3.

BUILT-IN MM PHONO PREAMP

The LUNAR 3 was designed to be compatible with all audio systems, from traditional Hi-Fi systems to the latest generation of connected speakers. It directly integrates an MM phono preamp that can be activated if your Hi-Fi system is not equipped with one. To ensure perfect connectivity with your Hi-Fi system, high- quality gold plating is used on the turntable’s outputs, as well as on the RCA Phono cable supplied with the turntable.

PREMIUM FINISHES

The LUNAR 3 features a luxurious lacquered finish to beautifully match our CAPELLA speakers. The turntable is available in three finishes: Black, White, and Blue. It comes with a lightly smoked acrylic dust cover with adjustable hinges, to protect the turntable from dust.

AUDIX Introduces D6X Kick Drum Microphone

Wilsonville, OR (January 9, 2025) — AUDIX, designer and manufacturer of premium professional microphones for stage, studio, and broadcast use, is proud to release the D6X, the next generation of one of the most popular microphones in its 40-year history. The D6X extends the capabilities of the classic D6, which has become the contemporary standard for reproducing kick drum, floor toms, bass guitar cabinets, and other low-frequency sources.

The D6X introduces a recessed, no-tools-required switch that selects between three frequency response profiles:
• Deep (bottom position): Identical to the classic D6 and the most familiar starting point for a forward sound that cuts through the mix.
• Balanced (center position): Provides more midrange and upper midrange, lending itself well to a somewhat more traditional kick drum sound while retaining the impact for which the original D6 is known.
• Natural (top position): Selects a more linear response, with even more midrange and an adjusted high-end roll off. This position is geared towards experimentation on sources with a fuller range of frequency content, such as Latin percussion, guitar amp cabinets, or even the lower driver of a rotary organ speaker.

The VLM (very low mass) mic diaphragm handles high sound pressure levels with ease, providing natural, distortion-free sound capture. It is paired with a transformerless output circuit to minimize impedance and eliminate interference and signal loss, even when using very long cable runs.

Though the D6X visually resembles its forbear and is therefore instantly recognizable, its enhanced design features a black anodized aluminum housing with an elegant, textured matte finish. Though and lightweight enough to place almost anywhere, its sense of heft in the hand communicates robust build quality. The steel mesh grille will withstand years of rugged stage use, and the enhanced XLR connector will guarantee optimal signal conductivity for superior output performance.

The D6X is designed and crafted in AUDIX’s state-of-the-art facility in Oregon, USA, and meant to provide a lifetime of stellar low-end sound capture and tireless service.

When the D6 was first released, no one could have predicted how thoroughly it would become the king of kick drum and bass,” says  at AUDIX. “The D6X evolves a now iconic design into an even more flexible musical tool, while preserving the core sound and qualities that made the D6 such an icon. The new D6X is the dynamic mic you might not have known you needed, but once you hear it, we are sure you will love it!

AUDIX Debuts OMX Series Dynamic Microphones

AUDIX Debuts OMX Series Dynamic Microphones

Between the OMX-E, OMX-M, and OMX-T, every type of vocalist is sure to find their ideal mic.

Wilsonville, OR (January 9, 2025) — AUDIX, celebrated manufacturer of innovative, premium-quality microphones for live musical performance and studio recording, today introduces the new OMX series of dynamic vocal mics. Comprising the OMX-E, OMX-M, and OMX-T, this product family matches a handheld microphone to each of three common stage scenarios. The OMX-E is geared towards singers who move closer to and farther from the mic during a performance; the OMX-T offers the tightest pickup range for sharing the stage with loud instruments; and the OMX-M fuses a medium-tight capture zone with a subtle mid-high presence. Just below each mic’s capsule, a color-coded ring encircles the housing, allowing quick identification with no need to read the mic’s name. All three models feature robust zinc alloy construction, a hypercardioid pattern, and singular vocal clarity that elevates the performer and delights the audience.

OMX-T: When the stage is as tight as the groove

For many bands, keeping the lead singer’s mic free of unwanted bleed and feedback is an uphill battle. This is not only because stages in showcase-oriented clubs tend to be small. Some venues favor mainly (or only) backline sound for guitar, bass, and even drums, so these instruments tend to get played louder than in a fully miked-and-monitored plot. Too often, the lead guitarist brought the amp for the stadium gig of their dreams. Whatever the challenge, the OMX-T isolates all the vocals while maximizing rejection of other nearby signals. Meant for singing very close, it retains detail with neither exaggerated bass boost nor loss of clarity. Its exceptional gain-before-feedback carves out a space in which both the singer and listeners will hear every word. Its silver-colored ring serves as visual reference to its application.

OMX-E: The dynamic mic for dynamic performers

For many musicians, singing engages the entire body, and this is visible in their microphone technique. One moment, an intimate and emotional passage might be sung very close to the mic; the next, the singer backs off to belt out a rousing chorus. Seasoned vocalists also vary mic proximity and axis to affect loudness and bass response in service of the song. The OMX-E was made for such artists. It is specifically designed to capture consistent detail and frequency response throughout an expanded range of distances relative to the performer. The dynamic capsule ensures worry-free performance. The green band flags the mic as an OMX-E.

OMX-M: The all-arounder

Engineered with a mid-tight pickup zone, the OMX-M is perfect for singer-songwriters and frontpeople who skew towards singing close to the mic but still need a degree of latitude. Reproducing the softest to the loudest passages, the OMX-M delivers studio-quality sound. Its gentle mid-high boost gives vocals an intimacy and urgency that will serve musical genres from acoustic folk to modern rock with equal excellence. Its bronze-colored ring is the visual nod to its versatility.

We often hear customers say that if they choose the right AUDIX mic for the source, they get a great sound with usually zero tweaking needed at the mixing console. The new OMX microphones lean into this philosophy by providing purpose-built variants for three singing styles and gig situations performing musicians are highly likely to encounter. All offer the construction quality and bang for buck AUDIX has come to be famous for. Between the OMX-E, OMX-M, and OMX-T, every type of vocalist is sure to find their perfect mic.
